Website: http://doj.nh.gov/charitable/index.html The Division of Charitable Trusts is a unit of the New Hampshire Department of Justice. The Attorney General, through the Director of Charitable Trusts, exercises all the common law and statutory rights, duties and powers of the attorney general in connection with the supervision, administration, and enforcement of charitable trusts, charitable solicitations, and charitable sales promotions under New Hampshire RSA 7:19 through 7:32-I. The Attorney General is a necessary party to any litigation involving a charitable trust and represents the public interest in such cases. The Attorney General also oversees the administration of charitable trusts held in the custody of the state treasurer, county governments, towns, and cities, all of which file annual reports with the Division of Charitable Trusts.
Giving New Hampshire (GNH) is an effort begun in 1999 by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the statewide community foundation serving the Granite State, to seek to improve the culture of giving in our state in lasting, significant ways. Over a ten-year period, we aim to measurably and substantially expand charitable giving in New Hampshire to the benefit of New Hampshires charitable sector and the well being of its people and communities. The GNH program is built upon the belief that it is possible to
tap into the caring and commitment of NH citizens with the ability
to give more and, by raising the bar on our collective giving, to
make our communities stronger, more beautiful, more just, and more
compassionate places to live.
