AmeriCorps Members Honored at Hampton Beach State Park

CONCORD, NH—Over 50 New Hampshire AmeriCorps and VISTA members were honored on July 23, 2004 at Hampton Beach State Park. First and second year members received recognition for service to New Hampshire communities and for serving there country. They received a special recognition from Congressman Jeb Bradley which was delivered by one of his staff.

AmeriCorps members play a vital role in meeting the needs of the communities in NH. They advocate for victims of domestic violence, they provide literacy services to children and their families and they are providing positive out of school activities to youth. In exchange for their service to New Hampshire communities, members receive a living allowance and an education award, which can be used for education.

AmeriCorps members in New Hampshire are part of the National AmeriCorps and National Service Programs.
