Having well trained and prepared
volunteers and volunteer administrators is vital for sound
volunteer programs. Volunteer NH! assists non-profits, state
agencies, schools, faith based organizations and private business
in getting the necessary training and education that will allow
them to deliver service that meets the needs of their communities.
This is accomplished through avenues such as but not limited to;
the Annual
Governor's Conference on Volunteerism, Statewide
Regional Training, and the Annual Tri-State Conference for National
Service programs
Volunteer NH! uses technology to provide
accurate information and to support volunteer placement and
non-profit outreach through a web based
matching system. Non-Profits register their organization and
volunteer service needs while potential volunteers can search for
the ideal opportunity either in their community, or by their
interest, or both.
In 2003, Volunteer NH! established the Spirit of New Hampshire Awards a
state-level recognition event to honor exemplary contributions to
volunteerism. This annual event augments the many volunteer
recognition events that occur in communities throughout the state
each year. Spirit of New Hampshire
Awards are presented to outstanding individual
volunteers in the categories of youth, adult, senior, group and
national service program. Awards are also given to exemplary
supporters of volunteer programs businesses, non-profit
organizations, educational institutions, faith-based groups,
municipalities, service clubs and government agencies.
