The Twenty First Annual Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism

CONCORD -- Yesterday Volunteer NH! hosted the 21st Annual Governor's Conference on Volunteerism, “Volunteerism: The Spirit and Heritage of New Hampshire”. The Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism is designed to bring together professionals and volunteers from the non-profit, government, faith-based, and private sectors. Participants learn, enhance, develop skills and increase their understanding of the volunteer network throughout NH. The conference enables individuals to effectively deliver needed services to New Hampshire’s communities and families. This outstanding event offers more than 20 workshops ranging from volunteer administration and management, to technological aspects that will assist non-profits in recruiting volunteers.

Keynote Speaker was Lewis Feldstein, President of New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Mr. Feldstein spoke on research from his book Better Together: Restoring American Community in which he co-authored with Robert Putnam.

Presentation of the Peg McGarity Award for Outstanding Volunteer Management was presented by Governor Benson. This award was presented to Andrea Young, with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, as an exceptional volunteer administrator who demonstrates excellence in program management and exhibits great initiative in developing available resources for volunteers.
