Spirit of New Hampshire Awards - 2011
Capitol Center for the Arts, Concord, NH ~ November 8th
On November 8th at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, NH the 2011 Spirit of New Hampshire Awards were held. Over 100 volunteers from many different organizations and areas of the state were recognized for their commitment to service and the New Hampshire tradition of volunteerism.
Taking place from 5:00 to 9:00 the Spirit of New Hampshire Awards included a dinner with Tom Raffio of Northeast Delta Dental, the ceremony with special emcee Tiffany Eddy of WMUR, and Govenor John Lynch.
Highlighted amoung the award recepients was Stacey Hoang, recipient of the Spirit of New Hampshire Award. Presented by Michael L'Ecuyer, President and CEO of Bellwether Community Credit Union and Granite Sponor of the Awards, the Spirit of New Hampshire Award is given to those that astonish and raise the bar of what it means to volunteer in New Hampshire.
Stacey is an incredibly motivated young woman with a deep dedication to serving our community. She is currently a senior at the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Social Work with a minor in Women's Studies. She has received numerous scholastic and achievement awards for her work and for 6 semesters has been on the Dean's List with highest honors.
This annual recognition program is administered by Volunteer NH in collaboration with the Office of the Governor. Spirit of New Hampshire awards honor outstanding contributions to volunteerism throughout the state of New Hampshire. They augment the many local recognition events that show appreciation for the work of community volunteers and volunteer programs.
