Board of Directors - Pam Hall

Pam Hall is President and CEO of Normandeau Associates, Inc., a nationally recognized natural sciences environmental consulting firm incorporated in 1970 and based in Bedford, NH.  She is also a member of the Company’s Board of Directors and a shareholder.  As President, Pam has been instrumental in leading the effort to develop Normandeau Associates, Inc. from a small regional firm with annual sales of $2.5M to a very successful and highly regarded $27M employee-owned firm doing business throughout the United States.  Before becoming President in 1988, Ms. Hall held several other positions in the Company including Senior Vice President, Vice President, Operations Manager, Project Manager and Director of the Company’s marine laboratory.  Early in her career she worked for the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, Illinois.  She has over 40 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.


Pam has served on many non-profit Boards and commissions and is very committed to volunteerism.  She has been on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Business Council of New England, an environmental industry trade association for many years and has been Treasurer since 1997.  She served for two years on the Advisory Board for the Ecological Industrial Park in Londonderry, NH during its conceptual stages.  She was a founding Board member of the New Hampshire Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC-NH) and served for 17 years (2 terms).  During her first term, she was Chair for four years during a transition and growth period for the Chapter, as well as Vice Chair and Treasurer in earlier years.  She was also a Board member of the Trust for New Hampshire Lands, a very successful land protection initiative.  Pam was appointed by New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen to serve on the Land and Community Heritage Commission.  This 20 person Commission helped to develop the NH Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP).  She is also a Board member of the New Hampshire Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership (NHCWRP), an innovative public-private initiative established to protect, enhance and restore our nation’s critically important wetlands, coasts and waterways.  NHCWRP is affiliated with the Coastal America Foundation, a partnership of federal agencies.  In addition, she was on the Board of Directors of the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH and  served as its Treasurer, Vice Chair and finally Chair for three years.  She is also a member of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF) Board of Trustees. In 2008, she was appointed by the Governor and Council to the VolunteerNH! Board/Commission for a 3 year term and served as Vice Chair in 2009/2010 and as a member of the Search Committee for a new Executive Director. Pam’s term expired in March 2011; she was recently re-appointed to VNH! and looks forward to working with the Board and staff  to continue to help with the success and growth of VolunteerNH!


Pam has a B.A. in Zoology, and M.S. in Zoology plus additional Doctoral work; a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Business Administration; and considerable coursework in Urban and Environmental Policy through the Graduate Special Studies Program at Tufts University.  In graduate school, she was nominated to Sigma Xi, an honorary scientific society, and to Phi Sigma, an honorary biological research society; and she was awarded an NDEA Fellowship due to her academic excellence.  In 1998, she received the Environmental Merit Award for Service to the Environmental Industry from the Environmental Business Council of New England.  Pam is a long time resident of Portsmouth, NH.
